Strength Training - Strong for Life
Strength training is at the heart of what we do.
For us, getting stronger isn’t about looking like a bodybuilder or lifting the heaviest weights in the room. It’s about building strength for life.
Strength training helps improve:
Whether it’s carrying shopping, playing with your kids, improving your energy levels, preventing injuries, or staying active as you get older, strength training plays a huge role in helping you live well for longer.
We coach every session to suit all fitness levels, so whether you’re completely new to training or already experienced, you’ll feel supported every step of the way.
Fitness for Everyday Life
Conditioning is about improving your fitness, stamina, and energy levels.
We want you to feel fitter for everyday life. That could mean walking upstairs without getting out of breath, keeping up with the kids, feeling more energetic at work, or simply having more confidence in your body.
Our conditioning sessions help improve:
When strength and conditioning are combined together, the results are powerful. You become stronger, fitter, more capable, and more confident.

Our 5-Week Training Structure
We follow a progressive five-week training structure to help members train with purpose, build confidence, and continue making progress safely and effectively.
Week 1 — Core and Imbalance
We focus on core strength, stability, balance, and identifying movement imbalances.
This helps improve posture, coordination, injury prevention, and overall movement quality - all essential for everyday life and long-term strength.
Week 2 — Unilateral Training
Unilateral means training one side of the body at a time.
This helps improve balance, coordination, stability, and strength evenly across the body. It’s especially important for preventing injuries and improving how we move day-to-day.
Week 3 — Hypertrophy
Hypertrophy training focuses on building lean muscle.
Building muscle is incredibly important as we age. It supports bone health, metabolism, strength, joint stability, and overall health — helping you stay strong and capable for life.
Week 4 — Strength
This week focuses on developing full-body strength and confidence with key movement patterns.
Strength training helps make everyday tasks easier while improving resilience, posture, mobility, and long-term health.
Week 5 — Test Week
Test week gives members the opportunity to see how far they’ve come.
We focus on celebrating progress, building confidence, and showing members what they’re capable of — whether that’s lifting heavier, moving better, or feeling fitter than when they started.

Family-Friendly Fitness
We know life can be busy, especially for parents, which is why we’ve created a welcoming, family-friendly environment.
Bring the Kids Sessions
Our Bring the Kids sessions allow parents to train while children come along too.
Kids can safely play alongside the session in our designated children’s area with toys and activities, helping parents fit exercise into real life without needing childcare.
We want fitness to feel accessible, supportive, and realistic for families.
Family Fit Classes
We also run Family Fit classes at the weekend, where the whole family can get involved together.
These sessions are focused on movement, fun, and creating healthy habits as a family. It’s a chance to move together, support one another, and make fitness something everyone can enjoy.
More Than a Gym
Ouch Potato is more than just a place to work out.
We’re a welcoming community of real people supporting each other to become stronger, healthier, and more confident - one session at a time.
